One of the greatest strengths of the Helix Hybrid is the shot length that can be achieved. This rubber helps you create depth and power in your attacks, making it easier to keep your opponent under constant pressure.

In today’s rapid-fire, offensive game, shot length is critical – and this is where Helix Hybrid stands out compared to many other hybrid rubbers on the market.

Helix Hybrid is designed for players who want to switch easily between control and maximal offence without compromising on feel in ball impact. Active play is rewarded with extra speed, more substantial spin, and more direct response in every shot.

The combination of the explosive sponge and the grippy surface rubber makes it possible to generate impressive shot quality – but taking advantage of this capability requires good technique.

Helix Hybrid 55 is the hardest rubber in the Helix Hybrid series, developed for players who want to drive the game with uncompromising speed, explosive power, and pro-level precision.

What makes Helix Hybrid unique is its combination of an explosive sponge from the Helix Platinum series and an extra-grippy, slightly sticky surface rubber. The result? A modern, hybrid feel in play that combines the best of both worlds – the powerful response of European tensor rubbers and the control, spin, and ball sense that characterize typical hybrid rubbers.

You’ll notice the difference right away. When you’re close to the table, you experience confidence and control, along with fantastic touch, in the short game, serve returns, and openings. At the same time, the powerful sponge gives you explosive response and high ball speed when you attack or play further away from the table.

The slightly sticky surface rubber improves grip on the ball and helps you build more spin, a longer ball trajectory, and higher quality in your offensive shots. The combo of grip and precision makes it easier to vary your shots, add pressure to openings, and control the tempo in duels.

H-Touch Tensor Technology delivers consistent speed and high precision in active shots and the Microcell Energy Sponge optimizes energy transfer for explosive acceleration and high ball speed.

Helix Hybrid is available in the following hardnesses to match a variety of playing styles and preferences: M, H, XH, and 55.

HELIX HYBRID features a grippy topsheet, but it is not a traditional, sticky Chinese-style rubber.

Unlike tacky rubbers where the surface lifts the ball purely through stickiness, HELIX HYBRID maximizes the mechanical grip between the topsheet and the high-performance sponge. This creates immense spin and a more dynamic, European-style catapult effect.

What is the difference between HELIX HYBRID and HELIX PLATINUM?

Both rubbers use the same sponge technology. The main difference is the topsheet:

HELIX PLATINUM

• Traditional "tensor" topsheet
• Faster
• Lower arc
• Excellent for direct attacking play
• More forgiving in passive play

HELIX HYBRID

• Grippy hybrid topsheet
• Slightly slower
• Higher arc
• Enhanced spin and rotation
• Rewards active strokes

HELIX HYBRID generates more spin and a higher trajectory, while HELIX PLATINUM offers maximum speed and directness.

Why should I switch from HELIX PLATINUM to HELIX HYBRID?

• Consider HELIX HYBRID if you:
• Want more spin in serves and topspin rallies
• Want a higher ball arc for added safety over the net
• Prefer a more spin-oriented attacking game

Players should note that hybrid rubbers reward active strokes and proper acceleration through the ball.

Which players should choose HELIX PLATINUM instead?

If your game relies heavily on pushing, blocking and direct speed like Truls Möregårdh, HELIX PLATINUM is your choice. If you want more safety, higher arc, and heavy spin rotation, HELIX HYBRID is your perfect match.

What is the difference between HELIX HYBRID and DNA HYBRID?

The biggest difference is the sponge. HELIX HYBRID uses a new-generation sponge that produces:

• More speed
• More power
• Stronger offensive potential

HELIX HYBRID also has slightly more grip in the topsheet compared to DNA HYBRID.

I currently use DNA HYBRID. Should I switch to HELIX HYBRID?

If you want more speed and a more dynamic offensive game, HELIX HYBRID is a natural upgrade. Players should be aware that the additional speed may slightly reduce overall control compared to DNA HYBRID.

How does HELIX HYBRID compare to DNA DRAGON GRIP?

DNA Dragon Grip features:

• A stickier topsheet
• A compact Chinese-style sponge

HELIX HYBRID offers:

• A grippy but less sticky surface
• A faster and more dynamic sponge
• Greater overall speed potential

How does HELIX HYBRID compare to DNA DRAGON POWER?

HELIX HYBRID is:

• Easier to use
• Available in more hardness options
• More forgiving for a wider range of players

DNA Dragon Power has a stickier topsheet and a different sponge construction.

How much spin does HELIX HYBRID generate?

HELIX HYBRID is designed for players seeking maximum spin without sacrificing speed. The grippy topsheet creates excellent ball rotation, while the sponge ensures strong acceleration and penetration.

Is HELIX HYBRID fast?

Yes. HELIX HYBRID is among the fastest rubbers in the hybrid category thanks to its speed-oriented sponge. While it is slightly slower than HELIX PLATINUM, it is faster than many traditional hybrid rubbers.

Is HELIX HYBRID suitable for modern defensive players?

Yes. The feedback from testing shows that HELIX HYBRID works particularly well for modern defenders who frequently counterattack and play topspin strokes. Traditional choppers who rely heavily on forehand chopping may find it more demanding to control.

Can HELIX HYBRID be used on both forehand and backhand?

Yes. The ideal setup depends on playing style and chosen sponge hardness. The wide hardness range allows players to select a version suitable for either forehand or backhand use.

What blade pairs best with HELIX HYBRID?

HELIX HYBRID works well with many blade types, but one particularly strong combination is: Clipper Cybershape + HELIX HYBRID M or H. The rubber also pairs especially well with fibre/carbon blades.

Is HELIX HYBRID 55 suitable for all players?

HELIX HYBRID 55 is designed for advanced players with strong technique. Because of its hardness, it performs best when paired with fibre or carbon blades and players who can fully engage the sponge.

How does HELIX HYBRID compare to Butterfly Dignics 09C?

The playing characteristics are very comparable. HELIX HYBRID offers a similar performance profile with strong spin, high arc and offensive power while being significantly more affordable.

Can HELIX HYBRID replace DHS Hurricane 3 Blue Sponge?

Possibly, depending on playing style. Compared to Hurricane 3 Blue Sponge:

Hurricane 3 Blue Sponge

• More tacky
• Higher spin potential
• Slower
• Chinese-style feel

HELIX HYBRID

• Less tacky
• Slightly lower spin
• Faster
• More European hybrid feel

Players seeking more speed while retaining hybrid characteristics should consider HELIX HYBRID.

Hardness

HELIX HYBRID is available in:

• M (Medium) - For controlled offensive players and backhand use. More forgiving.
• H (Hard) - The balanced choice for modern topspin players demanding speed and spin.
• XH (Extra Hard) - For advanced players with high swing speed looking for maximum power.
• 55 (Ultra Hard) - Elite performance. Requires professional-grade technique and explosive acceleration.

This makes it possible to find a suitable version for a wide range of playing levels and styles.

HELIX HYBRID is a high-performance table tennis rubber that combines a newly developed high-speed sponge with a grippy hybrid topsheet. The result is a rubber that delivers exceptional spin, a higher ball arc, and impressive speed - without sacrificing the control needed for decisive offensive play.

Most hybrid rubbers gain spin but sacrifice speed. HELIX HYBRID engineered to deliver both. This is achieved through the synergy of:

• A grippy hybrid topsheet for maximum ball rotation.

• A powerful, speed-oriented sponge for explosive acceleration.

• Four sponge hardness options (M, H, XH, and 55) to perfectly match your playing style.
