STIGA Sports and Linden BTK Eskilstuna launch new joint elite team in the top division – Eskilstuna by STIGA  

STIGA Sports, one of the world's leading table tennis companies, is now entering into a new partnership with Eskilstuna-based Linden BTK. Together, they are launching a new elite team – Eskilstuna by STIGA – which will play in Sweden's top league, Pingisligan by STIGA, from the 2025/2026 season onwards.
 
The aim of the initiative is to establish a long-term elite team in Eskilstuna, with the goal of inspiring more young people to play table tennis, creating local engagement and strengthening the sport's position in the region.
 
‘We are very proud to present Eskilstuna by STIGA. Starting a new elite team on our home turf is an important step in our ambition to develop table tennis both nationally and locally,’ says Felix Wirström, Head of Table Tennis at STIGA Sports.

This gives us completely new opportunities to build something strong and sustainable for the future – both for our players and for Eskilstuna as a table tennis city,’ says Martin Björkryd, team manager for Eskilstuna by STIGA.
 
This is the first time since 1986/87 that Eskilstuna has had a team in the Pingisligan. The initiative has been launched at short notice but with big ambitions. Table tennis star Truls Möregårdh and his club Eslöv are expected to be a crowd puller during the season. The team's home ground will be Eskilstuna, where audiences will already have the opportunity to see table tennis at the highest level this autumn when Eskilstuna by STIGA makes its debut in the Pingisligan by STIGA.
