2025 – A year that will go down in Swedish table tennis history

We will remember 2025 for a long time to come. It has been a year of success, lessons learned and pride. A year in which Swedish table tennis has shown what is possible when talent, hard work and the right conditions come together. Our CEO Andreas Zandrén sums up the past year.

Truls Möregårdh's achievements this year are nothing short of extraordinary! Victory in the WTT Smash in Malmö. Victory in the WTT Champions in Montpellier, France. And most recently, finalist in the WTT Finals in Hong Kong, China, where the world's 16 best players compete. Incredible! In addition, he won a World Championship medal in singles earlier this year in Doha, Qatar. As if that weren't enough, Truls also made history on home turf by becoming the first Swede to win five Swedish Championship gold medals in a row!

This is an achievement of the highest possible level. A performance that inspires far beyond the table tennis hall and is already influencing the next generation of players. Congratulations Truls! You are making Swedish sports history. We really hope you win the Jerring Award this year because you certainly deserve it!

We at STIGA Sports are both proud and humbled to be part of this journey. Together with Team Truls and our long-term collaboration with the Swedish Table Tennis Association and, not least, all the table tennis clubs in the country, we are now creating the conditions for development, broader participation and international competitiveness. This collaboration is more important than ever.

2025 has also taught me something very important. The impact of the Truls fever on public health is enormous. The number of table tennis players in Sweden has more than doubled in a short period of time. These are figures that will eventually translate into better health, stronger communities and more physical activity. It is a privilege to contribute to this.

Seeing our national team win lots of medals at the European Championships in November was yet another reminder of our wide reach. Table tennis is for everyone and affects more lives than we sometimes realise.

Now we pause, feel proud and recharge our batteries. Because what we all do together really matters. For people, for the joy of movement, for dreams and for the future!
