The I1 Hybrid Carbon has been developed with one clear objective:
to let you feel the ball, even when the pace is high.
This is what we call the STIGA Feel. A direct, natural connection between player and ball that creates confidence in every stroke – not by making the blade soft or slow, but by controlling vibration, feedback, and response with precision.
The fibre of the I1 Hybrid Carbon is not pure carbon. It is a hybrid composite developed to improve dwell time, vibration control, and overall playing feel compared to traditional carbon blades. At the core of the construction is a thin hybrid layer of Innegra™ and carbon fibre. In pure carbon blades, certain vibrations can feel sharp and difficult to control. Innegra™ selectively dampens these unwanted vibrations, while carbon provides stability and support for offensive play. Together, they deliver a clean, predictable, and consistent ball contact, stroke after stroke.

I1 Hybrid Carbon is the result of a long-term development programme that blends materials science with the precision mechanics of table tennis. In collaboration with TeXtreme®, a Swedish company specializing in advanced fibre solutions, STIGA Sports has produced a hybrid weave that is the first of its kind in table tennis – a unique structure combining Innegra™ and carbon fibre in perfect harmony.
Although it’s very thin, this hybrid weave is extremely effective. It’s strategically placed in the outer veneer in order to affect the ball immediately on impact. The result is a synergy that gives the player a unique feeling of control, stability, and power in every shot.
For quite some time, we’ve been working in our test lab in Eskilstuna with various fibre combinations, gram weights, and weaves. The goal: to create a blade that delivers feel, control, and speed in symbiosis. By adjusting the gram weight in each and every material, we’ve found a sweet spot where the vibration damping of Innegra™ and the carbon fibre’s explosive response strengthen each other.
