Adam Axelsson Takes the Next Step – Introducing a Harder Version of His STIGA Sports Signature Racket

STIGA Sports continues to evolve its Cybershape padel range and is happy to present the 18K X Hard Cybershape Adam Axelsson Edition, a further development of Adam Axelsson’s signature racket. The new model is a firmer, more offensive version, designed to meet the demands of a faster game without compromising control.

“When developing this version of my signature racket, the starting point was obvious. I like the model I’ve been playing with, but my game has evolved – and the racket needs to evolve with it. I wanted to build on what already worked, but take it to the next level,” says Adam Axelsson.

The new X Hard version features a stiffer construction, providing increased control at higher pace while enabling a more offensive playing style. Adjustments to feel and balance have been made to meet the demands of high‑level play, particularly in warmer climates where materials are affected by temperature.

“The game has become faster, and then you need a harder racket so the ball doesn’t rebound too easily. We also often play in warmer conditions, which makes the racket softer. With this version, I get both power and control,” says Adam Axelsson.

The development has taken place in close collaboration between the player and STIGA’s product team, with Adam involved throughout the entire process – from testing and fine‑tuning to final design.

“I started by testing different rackets and making small adjustments to find what suited me best. After that, we developed the design, which I fully decided myself. I wanted a racket that stands out while still being clean and stylish,” he says.

The new model features a distinct green design and builds on the Cybershape geometry, which provides a larger sweet spot and a more forgiving contact area. This makes it possible to play more offensively without losing control – a key focus throughout development.

“Thanks to the shape and the larger sweet spot, it’s easier to get a clean hit every time. That gives more control, which allowed me to make the racket more offensive,” says Adam Axelsson.

Balance has also been a crucial part of the development process.

“Balance was very important to me. I don’t want it too high or too low – it makes a big difference for technique and timing,” he says.

At STIGA Sports, the new model is seen as a natural next step in the collaboration.

“Adam is a player who is constantly developing, and the equipment has to evolve along with him. His input has been essential in creating a racket that truly performs in real‑world conditions – at high pace and under pressure,” says Mattias Westerberg, Chief Commercial Officer at STIGA Sports.
