The classic Clipper Wood turns 40 – we celebrate by launching Clipper 40 in a limited edition

Few table tennis blades have been as popular as Clipper Wood. This classic, offensive blade has been appreciated by a multitude of table tennis players, and was one of the first 7-ply blades in the world. It was also the blade that caused STIGA's 7-ply blades to receive international recognition, giving rise to the now well-known "STIGA feeling”. Clipper Wood was launched back in 1981 and was unique in its wood structure. Coloured veneer had never before been used in the production of table tennis blades.

Clipper Wood is the champions' choice. Liu Guoliang – a legendary player and the first Chinese to win a Grand Slam (Gold in the World Championships, the World Cup and the Olympics) – used the blade extensively throughout his career. The Swedish player, Fredrik Håkansson, also used Clipper Wood, which helped him to win Gold in both the World Cup team 2000 and the European Championship teams 2000 and 2002. Clipper Wood is still one of our best-selling blades, with sales in excess of 2 million units.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of this timeless 7-ply blade, we are now launching Clipper 40, a special edition of this offensive blade that offers a perfect balance of speed, power and the unbeatable STIGA feeling. Clipper 40 is made of light wood veneer and features a red, 40th anniversary logo and specially designed metal lens. Clipper 40 is delivered in an exclusive anniversary box.
